The NFL schedule for 2021 may only have been announced recently, but online sports betting fans are undoubtedly already speculating on who will make it through to the Super Bowl, and which team will get to raise the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Join us as we take a look at the NFL odds for each team that is likely to emerge victorious from each conference division, before looking at who is most likely to end the season as Super Bowl champions.

AFC North – Baltimore Ravens

Borgata Online odds: +115

The Baltimore Ravens’ offense is likely to succeed or fail based on the performance of Lamar Jackson. Despite a disappointing show in 2020 after his fantastic 2019 season, there’s absolutely no doubt the former NFL MVP is a linchpin for the team with his ability to make great passes (when he’s performing at his best) and his incredible rushes.

In the event that Jackson doesn’t return to form, the Ravens still have their defense to rely on, which Baltimore Ravens Columnist John Eisenberg described as “stacked,” “deep” and “talented.” Early reports seem to indicate as much, so if the offense and defense are both on form, the Ravens will have the edge over the Cleveland Browns.

AFC South – Tennessee Titans

Borgata Online odds: -130

While the Houston Texans have been dominant in the past five years, the team is currently dealing with a whole host of issues, which leaves the door open for the 2020 winners, the Tennessee Titans, to claim the division title again.

This is particularly true after seeing how the Titans have performed after the acquisition of QB Ryan Tannehill in 2019, a trade that has proven many analysts who claimed it to be a win as absolutely right. Add in the excellent additions of WRs Julio Jones and AJ Brown, and there’s very little standing in the way of the division title.

AFC East – Buffalo Bills

Borgata Online odds: -149

The Bills’ talent shone through in 2020 with their incredible 13-3 performance, and there’s no reason at this point to say why they won’t do the same again this year. With Josh Allen absolutely stunning everyone with his fantastic improvement in 2020 (and assuming he can do the same this year,) the Bills will face little threat from any of the other teams in AFC East division. In the AFC East, they are simply a cut above all the other teams.

AFC West – Kansas City Chiefs

Borgata Online odds: -278

Spoiler: this is our first pick for the Super Bowl 2022 winner, so skip ahead if you want the details on what makes this team so great. In a nutshell, the Chargers and Broncos simply lack the talent to dethrone the Chiefs, and will battle it out for second place. The Raiders are, short of a miracle, simply destined for fourth place in this division.

NFC North – Green Bay Packers

Borgata Online odds: -164

The Green Bay Packers have been a dominant force in the NFC North in the past five years, and have secured the NFC North win with 13-3 performances for both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. The 2020 season was a particularly good year for the team, with players including Aaron Rodgers having a bumper year.

Head Coach Matt LaFleur will also want to make it three for three, so expect him to push the team even further. I can imagine a third win will make LaFleur rather happy, especially after many criticized the Packers for hiring him.

NFC South – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Borgata Online odds: -189

Another spoiler: this is our second choice for winner of the Super Bowl 2022 title. Carry on reading to find out why, but the long and the short of it is they simply outclass every other team in the division. The Buccaneers are virtually guaranteed to finish first, with the Saints, Falcons and Panthers in second, third and fourth place respectively.

NFC East – Dallas Cowboys

Borgata Online odds: +120

There’s absolutely no doubt that the Dallas Cowboys are, like all the teams in this division, in a bit of a mess. This makes it hard to predict who will come out on top, but if we were to put our money on a team right now, it would be the Cowboys.

This team has finished in the top two for the past five years, with two division wins in 2016 and 2018. They may have been tied 6-10 for second with the Giants in 2020, but if previous trends are anything to go by, we expect the team to claim first place this year after a very unusual 2020.

NFC West – Los Angeles Rams

Borgata Online odds: +190

The NFC West is a close battle between the Rams and 49ers for first place, with the possibility that the Seahawks could cause an upset and displace either of our top two picks. However, if we were to pick a winner, it would be the Rams. While there are concerns about the Rams’ defense after the departure of defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, as well as the loss of safety John Johnson and CB Troy Hill, the acquisition of QB Matthew Stafford to the Rams’ offensive lineup should help give the team the edge over the 49ers.

Who will win the Super Bowl in 2022?

Our first choice – Kansas City Chiefs

Borgata Online odds: +450

There’s absolutely no doubt that the Kansas City Chiefs have the strongest team, at least on paper. At the top of their roster is the unstoppable Patrick Mahomes. It’s no surprise that this QB is rated as the No.1 quarterback by many analysts, such as Mark Schofield (Touchdown Wire) and Jeffri Chadiha (NFL.com,) with the stellar stats he’s pulled off over the past two regular seasons.

Of course, it takes more than one man to make a football team, but with the likes of Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and the recent addition of Orlando Brown – who was traded from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for the Chiefs’ draft picks – the Chiefs’ lineup is looking hard to beat.

It’s not surprising that this squad is also expected to make it to the Super Bowl considering they’ve made it to the finals for both the 2019 (Super Bowl LIV) and 2020 (Super Bowl LV) seasons, and the lineup has undergone minimal changes. When you factor in that the Chiefs will be looking to get revenge for their 31-9 loss to the Buccaneers at Super Bowl LV due to their weakened offensive lineup, and you have a team that’s likely to take it all the way.

Our second choice – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Borgata Online odds: +700

Breathing down the necks of the Kansas City Chiefs are the winners of Super Bowl LV, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady (who regularly has to shake off rumors of retirement) and the Buccaneers have already shown they have what it takes to stop the Chiefs in their tracks, and there’s a very good chance that they’ll do it again this year.

Even though Patrick Mahomes has demonstrated he clearly has the talent and skill to claim the title of No.1 quarterback, he may have met his match in the ageing but undisputed GOAT, Brady. At 44, Brady is undoubtedly an outlier, but he’s shown that he’s got more skills than many players much younger than him. With all the other starters on the team coming back, it’s very likely that the Buccaneers will have all the skills and experience they need to make it to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.

The only thing that you may need to keep in mind when it comes to football betting is the fact that Brady played the whole 2020 season with a torn MCL (medial collateral ligament) in his left knee. He’s not getting any younger, and there’s a chance that this injury may come back to haunt him (and anyone who chooses the Bucs for their NFL betting picks.) That being said, the team is more than Tom Brady, and with the likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Ronald Jones II on the roster, the team could still surprise us even if something does happen to Brady.

The contenders

These are the teams that have the skills to make it, but will need a good run and a bit of luck to overcome our two favorites:

  • Buffalo Bills – Borgata Online odds: +1200
  • Green Bay Packers – Borgata Online odds: +1200
  • Los Angeles Rams – Borgata Online odds: +1200
  • San Francisco 49ers – Borgata Online odds: +1200
  • Baltimore Ravens – Borgata Online odds: +1400
